Health and Safety Before, During and After an Earthquake with CBC Meteorologist

Want to find out how to protect yourself and your family before, during and after an earthquake? Join CBC meteorologist, seismology expert and new author Johanna Wagstaffe as she talks about how to be prepared. Demonstrations and activities, including a chance to see a full earthquake kit and a pop up tent (right inside the library!) are included.

Johanna is the author of Fault Lines: Understanding the Power of Earthquakes, and the podcasts, "Fault Lines" and "2050: Degrees of Change" (about climate change).

Rising Above: Discrimination and Hate

Theatre of the Oppressed - A Community Forum Theater play on the topic of hate and racism, where the audience is invited to participate in imagining how to better respond to the issues shown in the scenes and find solutions to difficult issues we all face. Through this form of theatre, it is with the participation and wisdom of the community that we explore and find solutions to difficult issues in order to create collective empowerment and resiliency in our environments.
